4. Face Data, Video Frames and AI Processing
What Face Data We Collect
BJJ Vision AI does not create or collect biometric face templates, facial embeddings, or identifiers used to recognise or verify individuals.
When you voluntarily request analysis of a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu video, the App extracts selected still-image JPEG frames from your video on your device.
These selected frames may incidentally contain:
- Your face
- Your body
- Other athletes
- Coaches
- Bystanders
- Training environments
Throughout this Privacy Policy, visible facial imagery contained within these selected frames is referred to as Face Data.
The complete video file and its audio remain on your device and are not uploaded or sent to OpenAI.
How Face Data Is Collected
Face Data is collected only after you choose a video and request an analysis.
Before any selected frame is uploaded for AI processing, the App displays an AI Video Analysis Consent screen explaining:
- What information is sent.
- Who receives the information.
- Why the information is required.
If you decline consent, no frames are uploaded and the requested analysis does not proceed.
By submitting footage, you confirm that you have the legal right to upload and analyse the content, including obtaining any permissions required from identifiable individuals appearing within the footage.
How We Use Face Data
Selected image frames are used solely to:
- Validate that the submitted footage contains Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or other supported grappling activity.
- Analyse movement, positions and transitions.
- Generate AI coaching feedback.
- Produce the requested analysis.
- Store and display your analysis history.
- Operate, secure and maintain the Services.
We do not use Face Data for:
- Facial recognition
- Identity verification
- Authentication
- Face matching
- Biometric profiling
- Advertising
- Marketing
- User profiling
- Tracking individuals
- Creating facial databases
Sharing with OpenAI
To generate the requested analysis, selected JPEG frames together with your coaching preferences may be securely transmitted to OpenAI, our third-party artificial intelligence provider.
Coaching preferences may include:
- Belt level
- Improvement goals
- Training frequency
- Preferred coaching style
The complete video file, audio, account identifier and internal analysis identifiers are not transmitted to OpenAI.
OpenAI processes this information solely for the purpose of generating the requested AI analysis.
Storage
Selected JPEG frames are securely stored using Supabase cloud infrastructure.
Analysis records, coaching feedback and related metadata are stored in Supabase databases.
Local analysis history and thumbnails may also be stored on your device.
Data Retention
There is currently no automatic expiry period for uploaded analysis frames or analysis records.
Analysis frames and results remain associated with your account until you delete your account and cloud analysis data.
Limited copies may remain temporarily where necessary for:
- Security
- Fraud prevention
- Operational integrity
- Backup procedures
- Legal compliance
Deletion
You may delete your account and associated cloud analysis data within the App by navigating to:
Settings → Analysis → Delete Account & Cloud Data
Deleting an individual saved roll removes only the local record and thumbnail stored on your device.
It does not currently remove the corresponding cloud analysis record.
You may also contact us to request deletion where applicable law provides such rights.
Consent and Withdrawal
The AI Video Analysis Consent screen is presented before any selected frames are uploaded.
You may decline consent by closing the consent screen.
If consent is declined:
- No frames are uploaded.
- No AI processing occurs.
- The analysis request is cancelled.
Because consent is requested before every analysis, you may choose not to proceed each time.
